Danny Castillo has a new opponent for his return to the Octagon. Initially expected to take on Isaac Vallie-Flagg on April 26 in Baltimore, Md., Castillo now meets Charlie Brenneman, after Vallie-Flagg was moved to a lightweight bout with Takanori Gomi.
Castillo (16-6) looks to get back on track following a back-and-forth majority decision loss to Edson Barboza in December, while Brenneman (19-6) had his four-fight win streak snapped in a submission loss to Beneil Dariush in his return to the UFC in January.
UFC has added a new bout to the Fight Night card in Cincinnati, Ohio, as William Macario faces off against Neil Magny on May 10. TUF: Brazil 2 runner-up “Patolino” returned to the win column after an impressive performance against Bobby Voelker at UFC 168, and Magny looks to get his first win streak inside the Octagon after defeating Gasan Umalatov at UFC 169.
Umalatov is also part of one of the fights announced on Wednesday. The Russian welterweight has agreed to take on Brazilian veteran Paulo Thiago at TUF: Brazil 3 Finale card in a yet-to-be-announced city in Brazil. Both Umalatov (14-3-1) and Thiago (15-6) desperately need the win to secure their jobs in the UFC.
