UFC is back with two events in one day.
Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva will headline TUF: Brazil 3 Finale card in Brazil on May 31, and the promotion will return to Germany at the same day, UFC officials announced on Wednesday.
The UFC Fight Night card will take place at the O2 World arena in Berlin, Germany. The promotion has yet to announce the main event.
“We are incredibly excited to announce this event and it is fantastic news for the many UFC fans throughout Germany and the rest of Europe,” UFC EMEA’s executive vice president and managing director Garry Cook stated.
“We are delighted to be returning to Germany in May and visiting Berlin for the first time. Germany is one of the leading world superpowers in sport and to be able to host a UFC Fight Night to our passionate German fans will be an honor.”
UFC’s last trip to Germany took place in 2010 when Yushin Okami defeated Nate Marquardt in the main event. One year before, former champion Rich Franklin defeated Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99 in Cologne.
