A matchup between a longtime featherweight mainstay and a newcomer on a hot streak will headline a UFC Fight night in San Antonio.
Cub Swanson will meet Jeremy Stephens in San Antonio on June 28. FOXSports.com broke the news Wednesday.
Swanson (20-5) is the winner of five straight fights since the beginning of 2012. Four of the Jackson’s MMA fighter’s victories have come by way of KO/TKO, and three were awarded post-fight bonuses.
Stephens (23-9) has reinvented himself as a featherweight after posting a mediocre record as a UFC lightweight. The Alliance MMA product opened eyes in his UFC on FOX 10 win over Darren Elkins. Long considered simply a slugger, Stephens outwrestled Elkins to improve to 3-0 at 145 pounds.
