Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva finally have a venue for their anticipated grudge match.
The two TUF Brazil 3 coaches will settle their disagreements on May 31, 2014 at the Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil, UFC officials announced Sunday night.
The bout between Sonnen (28-14-1) and Silva (35-12-1, 1 NC) was briefly linked to UFC 173 on May 24th. However, UFC officials elected to move the date back one week and stage the fight in Brazil rather than Las Vegas, NV.
TUF Brazil 3 premiered on March 9th and is currently airing weekly on Globo in Brazil. The show features middleweight and heavyweight Brazilian prospects, and is available to be streamed internationally on UFC Fight Pass.
Sonnen, 36, has lost three of his past four contests, including a first-round TKO loss to Rashad Evans in November.
Silva, 37, has alternated wins and losses over his last five outings, most recently knocking out Brian Stann at UFC on Fuel TV 8’s main event slugfest in March 2013.
