Titan Fighting Championship will crown a new welterweight champion.
Fresh off a submission victory in his Titan FC debut, Matt Riddle will fight for the vacant welterweight title against vale-tudo veteran Jose Landi-Jons at Titan FC 29, according to Titan FC president and CEO Jeff Aronson.
Titan FC 29 is expected to take place around late May or early June in a city yet to be defined, Aronson said.
Riddle (8-3, 2 no-contests) finished fellow UFC veteran Michael Kuiper in the middleweight division in his Titan FC debut in February. Riddle returns to 170 in May and tries to extend his unbeaten streak to six fights.
Landi-Jons (28-15), who briefly signed a deal with WSOF, chose to leave the promotion and sign with Titan FC. Coming off a quick knockout win in Brazil, “Pele” holds victories over the likes of Matt Hughes, Alexander Shlemenko, Pat Miletich on his record.
Titan FC’s next card is scheduled for April 25 and features Vinny Magalhaes vs. Jason Brilz, Dave Herman vs. DJ Linderman and Brock Jardine vs. Daniel Roberts.
