Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Dan Miragliotta. Poirier is southpaw and stalking, Corassani is orthodox. Poirier is cornering Corassani and switching stances in tight, but hasn’t landed anything of significance yet. Jab-low kick for Poirier scores. Poirier attempts a throw in the clinch, can’t get it and they separate. Stiff jab now for Poirier, but decent body shot from Corassani. Corassani tags Poirier with a straight left and he rubs his eye. Good right hand now for Corassani as Poirier continues to pursue. The two are trading hardcore in the middle with Poirier getting the better, mostly. Poirier locks up a Peruvian necktie off a three-quarter stack, but can’t get it. They separate and Corassani is dripping blood. Poirier tags Corassani with a left to end the round.

Round 2: Diving lead uppercut snaps Corassani’s head back and Poirier pounces on a clearly opponent. Poirier unloads a combination that digs to the head and body of Corassani’s left side, his right leaning against the fence. In the onslaught, Corassani collapses, leaving Miragliotta no choice but to stop the fight.
