K.J. Noons comes from a boxing background. In case you forgot that, he reminded everyone on Wednesday night.

Noons used a vicious right hand to drop Sam Stout at the TUF Nations Finale, then finished the fight with a big left hand to the downed fighter. The bout in Quebec City was waved of in just 30 seconds.

“You know, Sam’s a tough guy, this was the toughest camp I’ve ever done,” said Noons (13-7). “He’s never been stopped and this is by far one of my best wins. He’s a tough guy.

The victory was the ninth career knockout victory for the former Elite XC lightweight champion and was his second straight fight.

Stout (20-10-1) has dropped two of his past three fights and has been in a win one/lose one pattern for his last eight fights.

The bout was originally scheduled as a lightweight fight, but was bumped up to welterweight earlier in the week with no explanation given for why.

Noons was non-committal on whether to stay at welterweight.

“Wherever the UFC wants me to be at,” he said.
