A lightweight showdown between former Strikeforce champion Josh Thompson and former K1 HERO’S champion Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante is set for next months Strikeforce event headlined by Diaz vs Noons. Cavalcante was once argued to be in contention for top lightweight in the world honors but suffered back to back losses to Shinya Aoki and Tatsuya Kawajiri back on 2008/2009.

The event is scheduled for Oct 9 at the HP Pavilion.
