Ricardo Lamas vs. Hacran Dias set for UFC Fight Night 44 on June 28

The fight card for the UFC’s inaugural show in San Antonio, Texas is filling out as the promotion announced via Twitter on Sunday that one-time featherweight title contender Ricardo Lamas is set to face Nova Uniao’s Hacran Dias at the event.

UFC Fight Night 44 takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. The event will air on Fight Pass and Fox Sports 1. The event is headlined by a featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.

Lamas, 31, most recently competed at UFC 169 where he lost to featherweight champion Jose Aldo via unanimous decision. He earned that title shot with wins over Cub Swanson, Hatsu Hioki, Erik Koch and others. His record stands at 13-3.

Dias, 29, hasn’t competed since May of 2013 when he fought and lost to Nik Lentz at UFC on FX 8. Dias has been slated to compete since then, but has lost bouts to due to his or his opponent’s injuries. His only other Octagon appearance is a unanimous decision win over Iuri Alcantara at UFC 147. His record stands at 21-2-1.
