Legacy Fighting Championship has added a new jiu-jitsu phenom to its roster.
With Gilbert “Durinho” Burns leaving the promotion to sign with the UFC, Legacy FC went back to Brazil and signed another grappling wizard. Unbeaten in MMA, Michelle Nicolini has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion, Legacy FC president Mick Maynard told MMAFighting.com on Tuesday.
There’s no date or opponent for her Legacy FC debut yet.
Nicolini, a four-time jiu-jitsu world champion and ADCC 2013 winner, is 2-0 in MMA with a pair of first-round armbar finishes. At 32 years old, the Brazilian will compete in the strawweight division.
Legacy FC’s next card is scheduled for June 13 in Houston, Texas, and will crown a new flyweight champion in Damacio Page vs. Elias Garcia. In the co-main event, Bubba Bush battles Roger Narvaez for the middleweight championship.
