Another Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion is headed to the UFC.
Kevin Casey, who became the RFA middleweight champion on June 6, has signed with the UFC and will meet Bubba Bush on the UFC 175 prelims next month, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. In fact, the fight will feature two champions, as Bush is the Legacy FC middleweight champion, as well.
Casey (8-3) has won three fights in a row since losing to Josh Samman on the TUF 17 Finale in April 2013. “King” was a member of TUF 17 last year. He defeated Andrew Sanchez via knockout earlier this month to become the inaugural RFA middleweight champion and now becomes the sixth former RFA champion to sign with the UFC. That list includes: Sergio Pettis, Mike Rhodes, Zach Makovsky, Brian Ortega, Pedro Munhoz and Casey.
Bush (8-2) has won four fights in a row. He most recently successfully defended the Legacy FC 185-pound crown on June 13 when he submitted Aflonso Gonzales via rear-naked choke.
UFC 175, headlined by Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida for the UFC middleweight title, takes place July 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
