Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens threw down for five rounds on Saturday night. And they’ve earned an extra $50,000 for their efforts.
Swanson scored his sixth straight victory over the game Stephens, who hung in there despite an apparent broken hand suffered early in the fight. Swanson took a unanimous decision in the main event of UFC Fight Night 44 in San Antonio.
That was enough to land the duo Fight of the Night honors and give each an extra $50K.
That marked Stephens’ fourth bonus in his past five fights.
As always, a pair of Performance of the Night bonuses were handed out as well. Carlos Diego Ferreira needed just 38 seconds to submit Colton Smith, meaning he was bonusedĀ $1,315.78 per second. And 20-year-old flyweight buzzsaw Ray Borg pocketed extra dough for making short work of Shane Howell in a first-round submission.
