Chael Sonnen vs. Andre Galvao still on for Metamoris 4

Chael Sonnen finally gets some good news.

The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger, who was released from his UFC FOX Sports contract after testing positive for four illegal substances in two different drug tests, will still compete in a submission-only grappling match against Andre Galvao at Metamoris 4 in August.

Metamoris president Ralek Gracie told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that Sonnen will headline the card despite the latest news.

“Yes, he’s on the card,” Gracie told MMAFighting.com on Tuesday. “We will test his skills only.”

Metamoris 4 takes place Aug. 9 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, Calif.

Metamoris 4 also features UFC heavyweight Josh Barnett in a grappling match against leglock specialist Dean Lister. UFC veteran and ADCC winner Vinny Magalhaes will also compete against fellow jiu-jitsu black belt Keenan Cornelius.
