Two fights added to UFC cards in September

A pair of fights was added to UFC card in September.

Al Iaquinta and Rodrigo Damm, who recently had their UFC win streaks snapped, are set to collide at the UFC Fight Night 50 card at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino on Sept. 5. MMAFighting.com confirmed the match-up following a report from Newsday.

Iaquinta (8-3-1), the Ultimate Fighter 15 runner-up, recently suffered a second-round submission loss to Mitch Clarke at UFC 173. Prior to this fight, the Serra-Longo Fight Team product scored decision victories over Ryan Couture, Piotr Hallmann and Kevin Lee.

Damm (12-7) also looks to get back to the win column after a decision loss to Rashid Magomedov in Brazil. His only win since returning to the lightweight division came in a unanimous decision against Ivan Jorge in February.

The UFC Fight Night 51 card also has a new bout, as TUF: Brazil veterans Sergio Moraes and Santiago Ponzinibbio agreed to middleweight bout at the card in Brasilia, Brazil, on Sept. 13, sources told MMAFighting.com. Combate first reported the match-up.

Moraes (8-2) finally returns to the Octagon after sustaining a knee injury that forced him out of a bout with Sean Spencer in November. The jiu-jitsu world champion enters the fight coming off a pair of submission victories over Renee Forte and Neil Magny.

After pulling out of back-to-back fights due to injuries, Ponzinibbio (18-2) returns to the cage looking for redemption after losing to Ryan LaFlare in November in his UFC debut. The TUF: Brazil 2 alum went 18-1 before signing with the promotion.
