UFC sets dates, locations for next cards in Brazil

The UFC will make four more trips to Brazil in 2014, and it already set the dates for the future cards.

UFC Fight Night 51 is already official for Sept. 13 in Brasilia, but sources close to the promotion confirmed to MMAFighting.com that the UFC will host events on Oct. 25, Nov. 8 and Dec. 20. Terra first reported the news.

The locations are already set, pending the contracts to be signed to make the cities and venues official.

Despite reports earlier this week indicating a possible event in a 50,000-seat soccer stadium in Curitiba, UFC 179 will take place at the Maracanazinho gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 25.

Uberlandia, Minas Gerais is expected to host a Fight Night card on Nov. 8. The 8,000-seat Tancredo Neves gymnasium, also known as Sabiazinho, will be the venue for the UFN card.

The UFC’s last card in 2014 is planned for Dec. 20, and it will be a Fight Night show in Barueri, Sao Paulo. The Jose Correa gymnasium hosted the UFN 29 card this past October, attracting 6,621 fans to a main event between Demian Maia and Jake Shields.
