Round 1: Mario Yamasaki is the ref. Both fighters open orthodox, Brown is in the center of the cage. Browne catches a kick and trips Schaub to the mat, but Schaub stands. Decent uppercut from Schaub in the clinch. Good Jab now from Browne. Browne tries to stuff a shot and can’t quit, but after several hip turns finally stands. Schaub is now behind him, but Browne separates. Schaub shoots in and eats a huge uppercut and he’s hurt. Browne turns him over and moves to mount while he’s raining punishment. Schaub is diligently hip escaping and recaptures half guard, but now Browne is in mount. Schaub keeps trying to recapture his base, but Browne keeps flattening him out. Eventually Schaub takes enough unanswered punches to call it.
