There will be seven fights on the UFC 183 undercard. Miesha Tate vs. Sara McMann, Ed Herman vs. Derek Brunson, Ian Mccall vs. John Lineker, Rafael Natal vs. Tom Watson, Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes, Richardson Moreira vs. Ildemar Alcantara, and Thiago Santos vs. Andy Enz.

Thiago Santos vs. Andy Enz
Round 1: These two guys had to deal with a 30-minute delay after finding out the Jimy Hettes-Diego Brandao fight was off. Let’s see it if affects them at all. Your referee is Mark Smith. Both guys come to the center and exchange. Mostly whiffing. Santos lands a nice leg kick. Lots of Brazilians in the crowd already. Savage left body kick by Santos. You could really hear the crack. Big left by Santos against the cage. He has Enz on his bike. A couple of punches landed by Enz. This is a brawl early. Santos is swinging wildly. Enz eats another body kick. Santos pounces. Enz is down. Big punches. Ground and pound by Santos and that’s it. TKO finish. The second body kick started it. Just beastly.

Richardson Moreira vs. Ildemar Alcantara
Round 1: Brazil vs. Brazil in this fight. Greg Jackson in Alcantara’s corner. Marc Goddard is the referee. Moreira looks considerably more intimidating with more tattoos and muscles since TUF Brazil. Of course, that always translates into victories, right? Alcantara’s head kick is blocked. Moreira initiates a clinch, but Alcantara separates. Moreira lands some wild punches. Alcantara counters with a knee to the head as Moreira comes in. Wild sequence. Moreira clinching again. Has Alcantara against the cage. Looking for a takedown now. Moreira goes for a sloppy lateral and Alcantara slips right into mount. That was not good. Alcantara lands an elbow. But he’s not doing much. Moreira sweeps and he’s in guard. I guess he had him where he wanted him. Moreira lands a forearm to the head. Moreira falls for a leg lock, but no dice. Weird — and close — round.

Round 2: Head kick by Alcantara is blocked. He is controlling the center of the cage early this round. Alcantara with a nice left body kick. Must have watched the last fight. Another head kick blocked by Moreira. Moreira closes the distance, but can’t get a hold of Alcantara. That seems to be his strategy. Good straight right by Alcantara. Crowd starts booing. Lots of inactivity. Good kick to the chest by Alcantara. And a 1-2 combination, too. Moreira shoots and he stuffs. Moreira lands a looping left coming in. Moreira trying to wade in again with punches. Nothing landing. Alcantara hits with a right. Moreira grabs a single. Working for the takedown. Doesn’t get it. Alcantara defends nicely.

Round 3: Body kick by Alcantara. He’s content to pick Moreira apart. While Moreira likes to sloppily try to close the distance. Knee to the body by Alcantara. Could here the sound of that one. Alcantara is using distance nicely. Head kick blocked by Moreira. More boos. Moreira achieves the clinch and has Alcantara against the cage. He’s looking for a single leg again. Alcantara is doing a nice job staying upright. Moreira tries to drag Alcantara down, but Alcantara grabs the cage blatantly. Goddard stops the action. They restart. That was kind of weird. Why wouldn’t they restart on the ground if Alcantara cheated? Moreira giving chase now. The crowd hates this fight. Moreira looking for a single again. He gets an elbow to the face for his troubles. Moreira lands a right hook. And another. That’s the fight, though. Big boos rain down.

Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes – fight canceled
Round 1: Your referee is Mark Smith. The mostly Brazilian crowd loved that Natal walked out to the Brazilian national anthem. The two exchange leg kicks. And some more. Natal lands a good inside one. Natal catches Watson’s leg and lans a right hand. Watson trips, but gets back up, shirking off Natal. Good leg kicks from both. Two big body kicks by Natal. The two taunt each other. The crowd is into this. Natal is working those inside leg kicks. Good pace here. Body kick by Natal. Natal rocks Watson with a right and sends him against the fence. Watson shrugs, telling Natal he’s fine. Natal clinches looking for a takedown. Doesn’t get it. Natal lands a big takedown after a Watson kick. Watson back up and then back down again from the body lock. Watson is up. Natal working for another takedown and gets it. Fun round.

Round 2: Good leg kick by Natal. And another. Natal grabs a kick and takes Watson down. “Sapo” looks solid tonight. Watson scooting back to the cage in an attempt to get up. And he does, but not before eating some punches. Watson has some blood on the left side of his head. The two exchange punches. Natal tries to bull Watson to the ground. No dice. Body kick by Natal caught. Watson doesn’t give chase when Natal slips. “Brazil” chant starts up. Natal looking for another takedown up against the cage. Watson doing a good job fighting it off. He’s down and then up again. Making Natal really work for these. But he’s getting outpointed. Natal separates. Jab by Natal. Good double leg by the Brazilian. Great timing. The round ends that way.

Round 3: Natal just misses a spinning back fist. Natal lands a right. Leg kick by Watson. Watson stuffs a shot. Watson leg kick. He’s pushing the pace now. Watson probably knows he’s behind. Jab by Natal. And a 1-2 connects. Another one. Watson comes back with a right. Watson is chasing Natal. Natal lands a right. Natal with a big left body kick. And two jabs. Watson is hurt. Natal takes him down as the crowd roars. Watson is up against the cage. Natal with a takedown. Watson working his way back up again. Natal hasn’t been able to hold him there all fight. Big slam by Natal! He’s in guard. That’ll be it.

Ian McCall vs. John Lineker
Round 1: John McCarthy is the referee. This is a very odd fight since Lineker is likely moving up to 135. If he beats McCall, it hurts the flyweight division. Body kick by McCall. McCall shoots and lands a big takedown. He’s in half guard. A bit of ground and pound. Elbow from McCall. Lineker trying to sweep, but McCall is holding position well. More elbows. McCall lands elbows to the leg. He’s trying to work for mount, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Lineker grabs a leg. McCall twisting to get out and does. Maybe not. Lineker going for it still. McCall is out. They trade punches on the ground. McCall remained on top.

Round 2: Big punches by Lineker and McCall shoots. He gets all air, though. McCall grabs a single and Lineker goes for a guillotine. Looks good, too. McCall tries to twist out. The crowd is going crazy for Lineker. He’s on top now. McCall is safe, but on the bottom. McCall is up and his man bun is a mess now. Hard body punch by Lineker. Lineker lands a low blow. McCall is OK. Left hook by Lineker is partially blocked. Lineker is loading up on those punches. He lands a left hook. McCall shoots again and is stuffed. Lineker lands some grazing punches. McCall evading. Left hook by Lineker. And another one. Lineker lands a hard right. McCall shoots. Lineker defends and is looking for another guillotine. He’s on top with it. McCall is out. McCal looking for a an armbar. Nope.

Round 3: McCall lands a body kick, but Lineker counters with a right. Curious to see how Lineker’s gas tank holds up after the tough cut. Left hook by Lineker after a McCall kick. McCall shoots, but it’s stuffed. This fight has slowed down considerably. Left hand by Lineker. Hard. McCall has a chin. McCall slips. Lineker pounces. Punches in bunches. Not many land. Crowd is back in it for Lineker. McCall is cut under his left eye. Right hands by Lineker. McCall is eating them, though. McCall is stuffed on another takedown attempt. That has been the difference. Lineker taunts McCall, rubbing his stomach. The two slug it out as time expires. They embrace afterward. Loads of respect there. That was a cool moment.

Ed Herman vs. Derek Brunson
Round 1: The referee is Mark Smith. Ed Herman’s cornrows are the second best prelims hairstyle after Ian McCall’s man bun. But honestly, it isn’t closer. Brunson lands very quickly and pounces. Herman is in big trouble. And that is it. Brunson just mailed Herman. A left and then another did it. Then a whole bunches of punches on the ground.

Miesha Tate vs. Sara McMann
Round 1: Your referee is Marc Goddard. The two touch gloves and come out swinging. Hard right by McMann. Tate with a combo. McMann looks a lot more comfortable with her boxing. And she catches Tate. McMann drops her with a right and then pounces. Some ground and pound. Tate is OK. McMann in half guard. Tate back to guard. McMann passes to half guard. Lands an elbow. Tate back to full guard. McMann with a good elbow. Tate is hand-fighting, looking for a triangle or armbar maybe. McMann has good posture though. Tate attacking with elbows from the bottom. As we know, it’s hard getting McMann off you. Side control for McMann. She’s working for a crucifix. Ground and pound now. Tate is looking for McMann’s back. Won’t work. McMann holding her position. Big elbow. and some punches. Tate brings her legs up though in a kind of triangle. The crowd goes crazy. She’s safe for the time being. The round ends that way.

Round 2: A “Miesha” chant starts. Who knew? McMann lands a combo. Tate gives it right back. They exchange punches in a messy clinch. McMann has evolved quite a bit on her feet. Leg kick by Tate. McMann comes forward and lands punches. Tate counters. Good leg kick by Tate. Hard right by McMann. Has Tate in a clinch against the cage. Tate is out. Tate landing now, but mcMann takes her down. Tate has a guillotine, but McMann gets out. Tate still working for it from the top. Only one arm is around the neck though. The round ends with Tate working for that choke. The crowd absolutely loves Tate.

Round 3: Tate comes out firing. McMann throws her, but Tate ends up on top in half guard. Shoulder strike from Tate. McMann is not on her back very often. Tate slips to side control. Elbow to the gut from Tate. Tate dropping some elbows to McMann’s face. McMann trying to escape, but can’t. Tate back in dominant position. Tate works to north-south. McMann gets to half guard. Still in an awful spot though. Time is running out on her. McMann is trying to muscle her way out. That won’t cut it. Tate drops some punches. Tate back in side control. She’s going to win this one. Working for a kimura as time runs down. McMann is out, but it won’t matter.
