Cris “Cyborg” Justino has been given the all clear.

The Invicta FC women’s featherweight champion passed a random, out-of-competition drug test and has been cleared to compete in the main event of Invicta FC 11 on Friday night by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), executive director Andy Foster told MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani on Tuesday afternoon.

“Cyborg” defends her belt against Charmaine Tweet at Shrine Auditorium in Downtown Los Angeles.

Justino (12-1, 1 NC) had to pass an out-of-competition drug test as per the conditions of getting licensed to fight by the CSAC. That is procedure for someone who has previously failed a drug test. “Cyborg” tested positive for anabolic steroids after a victory over Hiroko Yamanaka at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal in December 2011 in San Diego. She was fined, suspended and the fight was overturned to a no contest at the time.

Foster said that the CSAC administered two tests on Justino. She passed the second and more thorough one from the lab at UCLA. The first one, from Quest Diagnostics in Utah, has not come back yet.

Justino, 29, is one of the top women’s fighters in the world and is currently in negotiations with the UFC about a potential bout with women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
