Another Bellator main event is set.
Brandon Halsey will defend his middleweight title against UFC veteran Kendall Grove in the headliner of Bellator 137 on May 15 at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif., Bellator announced Tuesday.
The undefeated Halsey (8-0) has not fought since winning the belt against Alexander Shlemenko last September at Bellator 126. The California native has won six straight bouts in Bellator, including the season 10 middleweight tournament. Halsey, 28, trains out of the Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach, Calif.
Grove (21-14, 1 NC) has been around for a long time, making his pro MMA debut in 2003. In Bellator, the Hawaiian has won two of three fights, including a second-round submission of Christian M’Pumbu at Bellator 127 last October. Grove, 32, has notable wins over the likes of Evan Tanner, Alan Belcher, Joe Riggs and Derek Brunson.
Currently, Halsey-Grove is the only bout announced for Bellator 137. The promotion last visited Pechanga in January for Bellator 132. The main card will air live on Spike TV.
