It looks like the UFC will start showcasing their newly acquired WEC fighters before January of next year. Featherweights Leonard Garcia (14-6-1) will meet Tyler Toner (11-2) on Dec. 4th at “TUF 12″ Finale in Las Vegas.
The bout was confirmed by MMAWeekly.com on Saturday.
Garcia will make his octagon debut on a loss after losing a close split decision to Mark Hominick at WEC 51 in September. That would make it two fights in a row that would go to a split decision for Garcia and the second straight “Fight of the Night” award for the fighter. The other bout being the memorable WEC 48 fight with “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung. Despite finding himself in some exciting fights, Garcia’s record is only 1-2-1 in his past four.
Toner also suffered a loss in his last fight, losing a unanimous decision to Diego Nunes at WEC 51, ending a six fight unbeaten streak. So far Toner finds himself 1-1 since joining the WEC earlier this year having defeated Brandon Visher by TKO at WEC 48 in April.
The TUF 12 Finale is set for Dec. 4th at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. No word was given whether this bout would end up on the televised card or not.
