Conor McGregor isn’t done with Floyd Mayweather.
McGregor already believes his UFC 189 clash with featherweight champion Jose Aldo could rival the interest of the May 2 boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Now, McGregor says boxing’s top draw wouldn’t last 30 seconds with him.
“I don’t look at a man who’s expert in one area as a specialist,” McGregor told Esquire. “I look at him as a rookie in ten other areas. If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs? If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather-pound-for-pound boxing’s best-if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than thirty seconds. It would take me less than thirty seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him.”
McGregor knows a thing or two about strangulation.
In 2010, McGregor tapped to a first-round arm triangle in a bout against recent UFC signee Joseph Duffy. He hasn’t lost since.
According to McGregor, tapping so quickly to the choke remains “one of the great regrets of his life.”
“That ate me alive,” McGregor said. “After that, I said I was going to fight to the death. You’re going to have to kill me.”
Someone be sure to let Urijah Faber know.
McGregor challenges featherweight champion Jose Aldo July 11 in the main event at UFC 189 in Las Vegas, Nev.

FANPOST OF THE DAY
Today’s Fanpost of the Day comes via TheFightNerd.
I am sick of it. I’m sick of hearing fighters complain about their media obligations pre-fight. I’m sick of hearing Dana White lambaste the media that covers his company in a sport he often talks about fighting for legitimacy and perpetual growth. It just doesn’t make any sense at all.
Like it or not, Mixed Martial Arts is the most viscerally brutal professional sport. Arguments can be made about the violence (and long term health consequences) of American football, but let’s be real– watching two people fight in a cage or ring hits something primordial in our brains; it creates a reaction that is unique to the sport. As fans, we (most of us) understand the subtleties of the game. We see two people pushed against the cage and we understand it is a battle for position, we see a fighter dancing outside of striking range of the opponent and we appreciate the footwork and discipline required to only engage when it is beneficial. In short, we appreciate the “kinetic chess” aspect of the fights. But for casual or non-fans of the sport, or more accurately the culture at large, Mixed Martial Arts is just fighting, brutal and barbaric. For many avid fans of MMA, it is a guilty pleasure, something we don’t readily share with our family, friends, or colleagues. We understand the intricacies of violent competition, they understand only the violence.
