Rafael CavalcanteStrikeforce light-heavyweight champion Rafael “Feijão” Cavalcante (10-2) is only one fight into his reign as title holder, having beaten Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal for the title in August. The Brazilian is happy with his current promotion and has no thoughts of moving to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

In fact, when asked his opinion on whether he thought the UFC pitted to many Brazilians against one another on purpose, so it would be “Americans versus the world,” Cavalcante was in agreement.

I intend to stay where I am, they’re treating me kindly and I think there’re still many good fights for me here, I can quote Dan Handerson, Babalu… They all have changed to a heavier division and I’m fine where I am, and we don’t change a winning team…

No, I don’t see myself as the best in my division, I’m far from it. I have to improve in many aspects so that I can say it. That’s what I’m saying: I have to improve each day. There are many good fighters on this weight division, and I don’t think there’s one who’s the best…

Yes, for sure (when asked if he thought the UFC pitted Brazilians vs. Brazilians on purpose). I think it’s a strategy to decrease the number of Brazilians on the top. I’m sure it’s something like it, and I think they should put the Brazilians to face other guys… There are many fights they could match… When they come to an end, like Shogun and Lyoto, it’s ok… Both are going to dispute the title, but before that there’s no need.
