A women’s bout has been added to the UFC card in San Diego.
Jessica Andrade is set to meet Sarah Moras at UFC Fight Night: Mir vs. Duffee on July 15 at Valley View Casino Center, the UFC announced Tuesday.
Andrade (12-4) was on a three-fight winning streak before falling to Marion Reneau by third-round submission in February. The Brazilian has wins over UFC women’s bantamweights Raquel Pennington, Larissa Pacheco and Milana Dudieva. Andrade, still just 23 years old, remains an intriguing up and comer in the division despite being small in stature.
Moras (4-1) has not fought since last July, a unanimous decision win over Alexis Dufresne, and has taken to social media recently to campaign for a fight. The Ultimate Fighter 18 alum will now have a difficult one in Andrade. The 27-year-old grappling specialist owns a win over Julianna Pena.
UFC Fight Night 72 will be headlined by a heavyweight contender fight between Frank Mir and Todd Duffee. No co-main event has been officially set, but a pair of lightweight bouts — Al Iaquinta vs. Bobby Green and Josh Thomson vs. Tony Ferguson — have been announced. It will be the UFC’s first time in San Diego since 2010.
