Shooto Brazil 54 will in fact air live this Sunday evening on UFC Fight Pass.
It was officially announced on Wednesday that the entire 12-fight card will air live on the UFC’s subscription-based streaming device this Sunday at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT. Jason Chambers will handle play-by-play duties, while Dominick Cruz will serve as the color analyst.
The event, which will be headlined by Felipe Fores vs. Pablo Dantas for the vacant Shooto Brazil featherweight title, features former UFC fighters Luiz Cane and Ronnys Torres in separate bouts.
UFC chief content officer Marshall Zelaznik first announced the possibility of this happening on Monday’s episode of “The MMA Hour.”
In addition to airing live events, all 53 previous Shooto Brazil will soon be uploaded to UFC Fight Pass. These fights feature the likes of Jose Aldo, Renan Barao and Glover Teixeira earlier in their respective careers.
“The addition of the Shooto Brazil library means our members will soon have access to the libraries of 18 of the most important promotions from around the world and up and down the history of MMA,” UFC chief content officer Marshall Zelaznik stated in a press release. “Fight Pass continues to develop into more than a must-have for fight fans, but an expansive archive of the entire sport, from the greatest modern UFC fights to the wars in PRIDE in Japan years ago, to the emergence of the lighter-weight fighters in the WEC to Vale Tudo fights in 1990s Brazil.
“When we are finally done ingesting all these new libraries, we expect to be offering our members access to over 20,000 fights from all over the world and across and the entire history of our sport.”
A one-month Fight Pass subscription is currently priced at $9.99.
