DaMMAge Fight League is a brand new professional Mixed Martial Arts promotion that is based in Atlantic City, NJ. The league aims to be a shining star on the East Coast MMA fight scene and its debut next month is appropriately called “The Big Bang.” The event will take place at the Taj Mahal Casino Hotel in Atlantic City on Wednesday, November 24th and will be broadcast live on GoFightLive.tv.
Promoter Carl Mascarenhas is excited about adding a professional MMA show to his existing amateur promotion, the very successful Asylum Fight League. When asked why he created DaMMAge Fight League, he said, “I have been involved in producing some of the best amateur MMA events in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. I have decided to put together a Pro League for the simple reason that I can (laughs). Seriously, there are a lot of talented fighters in the tri-state area and I want to help them get to the next level. We have had most of them involved in Asylum one way or another so it just made sense to have a pro show where they can become the superstars that they are.”
Like the Asylum, DaMMAge Fight League will strive to be different and better than the competition. Carl explains it this way: “ I have history in MMA not only as a fighter but as a promoter with over forty shows. Promoting them and taking two MMA companies to the top is quite a challenge. The Asylum still reigns as the top amateur MMA production in the area without a doubt. Now I want to do the same for DaMMAge Fight League.”
The main event features two very popular and accomplished area fighters, UFC and EliteXC veteran Chris “The Story” Ligouri (11-8) and M-1 and Ring of Combat veteran John “Greco” Salgado (4-3-1). Ligouri is riding a two-fight win streak and is sure to showcase his full steam ahead style next month against the very tough Salgado.
Also featured on the card are two of the top women fighters in the world, the ever-popular Tara LaRosa (18-2) and former Strikeforce title contender Takayo Hashi (12-2). This bout has fight of the night written all over it, because neither of these female warriors gives an inch in the cage.
As if that wasn’t enough, the stacked card also features a bout between two UFC veterans Kevin “The Shaman” Jordan (11-8) and Brandon Lee Hinkle (14-10). Both men are looking to reinvigorate their careers after recent losses and will be sure to bring fireworks in their fight. In addition, former UFC standout Mike Massenzio will be fighting on the card as well.
MMA and UFC legend Mark Coleman will also be in attendance at the Big Bang event, and all ticketed fight fans will have an opportunity to meet and greet the MMA superstar.
With a debut like this, it is clear that promoter Carl Mascarenhas has pulled out all the stops. When asked what his plans for the future of the promotions are, he joked, “The world!”
Before that he’ll need to conquer the East Coast first, which is something he intends to do. “I am planning to take the DaMMAge Fight League up and down the eastern seaboard,” he said, “taking the East Coast by storm.” “The Big Bang” will take place on Wednesday, November 24th at the Taj Mahal Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Tickets are on sale now at DaMMAgeMMA.com. Tickets can also be purchased on the night of the event at the door. Fans who can’t make the show can catch the action on GoFightLive.tv.
