Lyoto Machida had his second straight bad night in the Octagon last weekend at UFC Fight Night 70.

He came out of his third-round TKO loss to Yoel Romero with a broken nose, less than three months after he suffered a one-sided defeat at the hands of Luke Rockhold.

But don’t confuse a pair of bad results for the end of the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s career. Per manager Ed Soares, Machida plans on continuing to fight once he’s healthy. MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani reported the news on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight.

The 37-year-old Machida underwent surgery on Sunday to repair the nasal damage. There’s no timetable yet on a return for the middleweight contender, who is 22-7 but has dropped three of his past four fights.
