New Jersey native Tara LaRosa (18-2) is itching to do battle with Takayo Hashi (12-2) at DaMMAge Fight League’s Big Bang event on November 24th at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. She’s training hard for her bout with Hashi. “Training never goes as well as I’d like it to,” said the perfectionist LaRosa, “but it’s going a whole lot better than last time.”
Tara knows her opponent is dangerous and has strong skills. “Hashi is really good. She’s been around for quite some time. She’s very well rounded. She has solid stand up, she has really good ground and a nice transition game as well. So I’m going to be busy wherever the fight may happen to be. I’ve really got a kind of put on my thinking cap and get to it!”
As for how LaRosa thinks the fight will go, she’s not quite certain. “I’m not really sure what to expect. She looks really strong. She has kind of a big butt and legs, so I imagine she’s probably going to be able wrestle and shoot and kick. She’s probably going to be able to keep her legs under her and she looks to have pretty good cardio so I don’t think she’s going to run out of gas. I’m guessing I’m in for the long haul. I’m not exactly known for having knockout power or knockout ability, but if one of my flails happens to land, we’re in good shape! (laughs)”
But all in all, Tara says, “I think it should be a really good show.”
The stacked and stellar card has had one recent change. Mike Massenzio is no longer fighting, and has been replaced by his teammate from Team Bombsquad, Mike Geurin (8-2). Geurin is another very accomplished wrestler who loves to stand and bang, and he is stepping in against the undefeated Andrew Riddles (5-0) in what promises to be a very entertaining fight.
Here is the card as it looks right now:
Chris Liguori vs. John Salgado
Tara LaRosa vs. Takayo Hashi
Kevin Jordan vs. Branden Lee Hinkle
Mike Geurin vs. Andrew Riddles
Rafaello Oliveira vs. Kevin Roddy
Lewis Pascavage vs. Jonathan Helwig
Tenyah Dixon vs. Eric Moon
Binky Jones vs. Ran Weathers
Piotr Andrejko vs. Zachary Sanders
Jeremy Anderson vs. Biff Walizer
Steve McCabe vs. Darnell Hooker
Andre Gusmao vs. TBD
Chris Davis vs. TBD
And of course, MMA and UFC legend Mark Coleman will also be in attendance at the Taj Mahal for the Big Bang event. He’ll be cornering Hinkle as well as treating ticketed fans to a meet and greet session.
“The Big Bang” will take place on Wednesday, November 24th at the Taj Mahal Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Tickets are on sale now at DaMMAgeMMA.com. Tickets can also be purchased on the night of the event at the door. Fans who can’t make the show can catch the action on GoFightLive.tv.
