This Conor McGregor-inspired beer became Dublin’s most recent craze

Dublin decided to give back to Conor McGregor by immortalizing him through this local drink.

It is undeniable that Conor McGregor’s star power is one that cuts through the global market, catering to both fight fans and otherwise.

So much so that his home city of Dublin decided to immortalize “The Notorious” through a local beer aptly named “13 Seconds” Porter. A brainchild of Brewtonic under Irish entertainment and music company Bodytonic, the porter went on sale in MVP, a pub located in the suburban area of Harold’s Cross.

According to Bodytonic’s head honcho Trev, apart from the obvious reason of naming the drink after McGregor’s iconic finish of José Aldo at UFC 194, the idea behind what turned out to be a hot trend among Irish beer drinkers was mundanely philosophical.

“He won his fight in pretty much the same amount of time it takes to pour a pint of porter properly,” Trev told Fightland. “Like Conor himself, it was destined to be.”

As of the moment, 13 Seconds Porter has remained unavailable for consumption since it was immediately sold out within days after it went on the menu in early January. Trev is open to the idea of putting it back on the market, given what he believes is its unique selling point.

“It goes down easy… Just like Aldo.”
