Matt Mitrione confirmed he suffered a broken orbital in his TKO loss to Travis Browne. Check out how his right eye looked hours after the bout.
Matt Mitrione’s right eye was an absolute mess after his controversial TKO loss to Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz in Boston, MA. Browne poked him in the eye multiple times without punishment, and Mitrione’s vision and ability to find his range was significantly affected from round 2 onwards. A hard slam in round 3 damaged Mitrione’s shoulder, and he was stopped with strikes from mount, but not before his eye received more blows and swelled its way into something unsightly.
Mitrione confirmed on Twitter that he suffered a broken orbital, as well as the shoulder injury, and here’s how his eye looked hours after the fight wrapped up:
Broken orbital floor. This and the shoulder happened after the 2nd eye poke. I don’t think they would’ve happened pic.twitter.com/wFn1NC3j5Y

For “Meathead”, he falls to 9-5 in his MMA career and will enter free agency on a two-fight losing skid, and he has every right to be upset over how his bout with Browne was refereed.
