Meal tickets > Wolf tickets.
“We’re in the hurt business. I don’t care if you’re the king of the hurt business, we’re in the business where we get hurt. [Rousey has] got to be seen. Come out the house, whatever. I seen she’s been around. Show your face, you’re human. It’s just unfortunate that she’s a Goliath. David’s a great king, he done great things, he built a civilization. But he’s more famous for beating Goliath. So he’s never out of Goliath’s shadow. Like, the young lady Ms. Holm. She’s never going to be out of Ronda’s shadow. That gave her her life ticket, her meal ticket, and that’s a wonderful thing.”
Former heavyweight boxing champion-turned-EA Sports UFC slugger Mike Tyson was a recent guest on the Conan O’Brien show and the conversation drifted toward frequent guest and former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, currently on the road to recovery following last November’s stunning knockout loss to Holly Holm. “Iron” Mike, having felt the sting of defeat during his prime, thinks the best way for “Rowdy” to rebuild her public persona is by hitting the pavement and getting her face back in the limelight. I suppose this “Big Apple” production is as good a place to start as any, though I can’t help but wonder if the aging pugilist is right when it comes to “The Preacher’s Daughter,” who is quietly defending her title at UFC 197 while “Rowdy” is out making all the headlines.
