Jose Aldo discusses Rafael dos Anjos’ superfight against Conor McGregor, and would like an opportunity to rematch the man who knocked him out.
In his hometown of Manaus for a fundraiser, Jose Aldo spoke to Globo Esporte about Rafael dos Anjos‘ upcoming superfight against Conor McGregor. In the former champion’s eyes, there is no way “The Notorious” walks out victorious. Furthermore, he also discards a potential fight against his fellow countryman.
“I don’t read things on the internet too much. I don’t think there’s any possibility of this fight against Rafael happening. He’s a guy I care a lot about. But everything is up to the UFC. They call the shots. But I’m sure Rafael will win his fight against McGregor.”
Once again, Aldo took the opportunity to advocate for an immediate rematch as well.
“All champions who lost got an immediate rematch. So we will only accept that. We are fighting for a right that is ours.”
Jose Aldo was knocked out by Conor McGregor at UFC 194, last December. With the win, McGregor was granted a superfight against current lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, at UFC 197, on March 5.
