Take a look at the full fight card and bout order for the Saturday, February 6th UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs. Thompson card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Next Saturday was supposed to be the UFC’s annual Super Bowl weekend PPV event. Now it’s a Super Bowl weekend FS1 event. The original main event was Fabricio Werdum vs. Cain Velasquez 2, but Velasquez pulled out and was replaced by Stipe Miocic. Then Werdum pulled out and left Miocic without an opponent. The UFC ultimately decided to “cancel” UFC 196 as a PPV and rename it a UFC Fight Night on FS1. Rafael dos Anjos vs. Conor McGregor is now the new UFC 196.
Now that you’re all caught up on what’s happened over the past few days, let’s get back to the fights themselves. The new main event for The Card Formerly Known as UFC 196 is Johny Hendricks vs. Stephen Thompson, which has been elevated to a five-round fight. Roy Nelson and Jared Rosholt are the new co-main event. Two bouts from the prelims (Mike Pyle/Sean Spencer and Misha Cirkunov/Alex Nicholson) to the main card, so enjoy the FS1 pacing for that!
Lest we forget that on the Fight Pass prelims, Mike “The Truth” Jackson and Mickey Gall will duke it out, with a shot at CM Punk on the line only for Gall.
