Pastor: I pray that God strikes ‘wicked’ Conor McGregor down with a lightning bolt!

Things got a bit intense during a recent sermon at Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, as the pastor doing his Sunday duties — Donnie Romero — decided to bring Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) into the mix.

Specifically, Conor McGregor.

Romero was none too pleased after he caught wind of Conor’s comments aimed at Jesus Christ, as the reigning featherweight champion claimed he would “whip his ass” if he was alive.

As a result, Romero sent a prayer request up to the heavens to have the Almighty one deliver a lightning bolt with Conor’s name on it to prove to “Notorious” that he is nothing but a wicked person who is no match for a real God.

Raw Story has his comments:

“He said if Jesus Christ was in the ring with me, I’d knock him out! The guy is a UFC fighter. That guy is nothing. That guy, I’m going to pray that God strikes him down with a lightning bolt! So everybody in the world believes that the Bible even a little bit will know that it was God, it was Jesus that struck him down. He can just look down and with his little finger just say, ‘So, boom!’ Some catastrophic event because he’s a wicked person. And if you watch him and you’re a fan of his and you call yourself a Christian, shame on you! You’re not right with God! It’s wicked as hell.”

Wanderlei Silva approves.

Not only does the scrappy Irishman have all of the featherweight and lightweight contenders gunning for him, but he must now worry about intense pastors wishing ill will on him, as well.

And who knows, maybe Rafael dos Anjos will be the lighting bolt sent to silence McGregor once and for all.

We’ll find out soon enough.
