This Saturday night, the UFC presents the former UFC 196 and now, just the plain old UFC Fight Night. UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs, Thompson is live on Fox Sports 1 this Saturday, February 6 with a fight time of 10:00 p.m. ET for the main card. As always, Bloody Elbow will have live fight night coverage. To get ready for the show, let’s take a look at the UFC Fight Night odds, courtesy of Bovada.
In the main event, former UFC Welterweight champion Johny Hendricks steps into the cage for just the second time since dropping his title to Robbie Lawler in 2014. He takes on striker Stephen Thompson. As of Wednesday afternoon, here are the odds for this main event:
Johny Hendricks -230
Stephen Thompson +180
As a reminder, this means Hendricks is the favorite and a bet of $230 on him will earn you $100, while a bet of $100 on Thompson will earn you $180. Not as wide a margin as you might expect, given that the former champion is taking on an 11-1 fighter with relatively limited MMA experience.
In the night’s co-main event, Heavyweights Roy Nelson and Jared Rosholt square off. Odds have the veteran Nelson as the slight favorite at -165 to Rosholt’s +135 – a changing of the guard for Heavyweight gatekeeper perhaps?
Wider odds can be found elsewhere on the main card. In the Flyweight clash between former title challenger Joseph Benavidez and former Bellator champion Zach Makovsky, Benavidez is the wide favorite, sitting at -450 to +325 for Makovsky. And Ovince Saint Preux is a big -400 favorite to Rafael Cavalcante at +300.
Two prelim fights are exceptionally close. Derrick Lewis is EVEN against Damian Grabowski at -130, and Artem Lobov is at -125 to -105 for Alex White.
Biggest mismatch on the card (at least according to the odds) goes to Misha Cirkunov vs. Alex Nicholson. The rising Cirkunov is at -900 in this, his second UFC fight, while the debuting Nicholson is at +550. Get all the odds here.
