Check out Dada5000’s open workout footage

Dhafir Harris prepares to come back to fighting form at Bellator’s open workouts.

Bellator 149 is just around the corner, and the anticipation continues to build between the two participants in the co-main event, Kimbo Slice and Dada5000 – or as they’re known by the government, Kevin Ferguson and Dhafir Harris, respectively.

Bellator had open workouts, and we’ve got some interesting insight into how things may play out. By the time he steps into the Bellator cage this Friday, Dhafir Harris will not have fought in just two weeks shy of a five year stretch. Anyone that has not seen the documentary Dawg Pound and hasn’t seen either of Harris’ previous bouts may have questions as to what he’s bringing to the table.

Perhaps what was seen today may give us some clues.

First off, we have some footage of Harris hitting mitts:

We also got to see some of Harris working on a heavy bag as well, courtesy of GrabakaHitman:

Dhafir Harris is 2-0 as a professional in the heavyweight division, and does not appear to be affiliated with any team or notable group in the MMA community. He certainly has some trainers and has been seen in the Bellator In Focus special as working with various trainers for his striking, strength and conditioning, and a bit of grappling.

How will this affect the outcome of the fight? Well, that’s the beauty of MMA, isn’t it? We’ll only know once that cage is locked, and Friday can’t come soon enough.

Bellator 149 takes place this Friday live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX, with the televised portion of the main card starting at 9:00pm EST.
