Bellator 149 headliners Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock came face-to-face earlier today in Houston, Texas. Bitter rivals Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000, meanwhile, were kept a safe distance apart to avoid a premature “305”-inspired eruption.
Bellator MMA held its weigh-ins earlier today (Thurs., Feb. 18, 2016) to get ready for the upcoming Bellator 149: “Shamrock vs. Gracie” televised event, which takes place tomorrow night (Fri., Feb. 19, 2016) inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
As expected, mixed martial arts (MMA) legends Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie were on the scene to step on the scale before they’re set to slug it out in the Bellator cage. After both men established their weight for this Openweight bout, the fighters struck a pose as cameras caught the intensity of the foes.
See below.
In the “Shamrock vs. Gracie 3” co-main event, long time South Miami rivals Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris traded everything but their fists at the media blitz yesterday afternoon. One had to hope these Heavyweights could keep their composure after weighing in.
Mission accomplished:
It appears promotion president Scott Coker had visions of this recent meltdown and decided a “Kimbo vs. DaDa” staredown wasn’t in his best interest. Better safe than sorry:
