Former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, says Conor McGregor is clever and has proved himself in the Octagon to earn his respect.

While speaking to Combate during a media scrum in London, the former UFC middleweight champion said Mystic Mac has earned his respect by showing what he has accomplished so far in his career, especially after his press conference with Nate Diaz.
“He is a very controversial guy. A really smart guy, too. Intelligence is his main asset, but he trains hard, too. He has all my respect and he deserves respect from all of us because he has shown us why he’s here,” said Silva.
While McGregor waits to take on Nate Diaz in a welterweight bout at UFC 196 on March 5, Silva will face Michael Bisping this Saturday, February 27, in London, at UFC Fight Night 84.
The card also features another important middleweight bout as Gegard Mousasi faces Thales Leites in the co-main event of the evening.
