Daron Cruickshank, Matt Dwyer among latest UFC roster cuts

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to thin its active roster, as the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organization recently released three fighters from their contracts, according to a report from Bloody Elbow.

Among them is Daron Cruickshank, who competed 13 times inside the Octagon prior to his release. Daron is currently in the midst of a three-fight losing streak, coming up short against Paul Felder, James Krause, and Beneil Dariush, all by rear-naked choke.

Cruickshank’s notable wins inside the eight-walled cage include W’s over Yves Edwards and Erik Koch. He leaves UFC with a 6-6-1 record after four years of service.

I’ve officially been released. It’s been a pleasure and privilege to fight for the UFC. I am now currently looking for a fight elsewhere.

Matt Dwyer, who is currently on a two-fight skid, was also handed his walking papers after just four fights with the Zuffa-owned promotion.

I’m sorry to announce that I have been released by the #UFC Thank you everyone who has supported me! I’ll be back

Gasan Umalatov, who like Dwyer only had four fights inside the Octagon, was let go following back-to-back defeats, with his latest loss coming at the hands of Viscardi Andrade at UFC Fight Night 77 last November.

On the bright side, this guy is always looking for talent.
