Bellator 149 “Shamrock vs. Gracie 3” took place back on Feb. 19, 2016 in Houston, Texas, at the Toyota Center. It was a milestone event for Bellator MMA on Spike TV, garnering the biggest audience on Spike for a fight in almost five years.
Dual main events with Ken Shamrock vs. Royce Gracie and Kimbo Slice vs. Dada 5000 paved the way for this record-setting show, and also provided Bellator MMA the opportunity to experiment with virtual reality technology.
“In Houston we captured some groundbreaking and incredibly immersive footage that I’m sure both hardcore and casual fans alike will enjoy,” Bellator COO Jason Jordan said in today’s release. “Not only did we break ratings records that night, but we also raised the creative bar with our VR coverage in terms of literally engulfing fans in the energy and excitement that makes MMA like no other sport.”
Now for the first time, fans can experience a full 360 degrees of a fighter’s walkout from the locker room to the arena before their fight inside the Bellator cage. You can watch the video right here on a computer, smart phone, or tablet — though the latter two are recommended for the best viewing experience.
