Junior dos Santos talks about what he needs to do to become a better MMA fighter ahead of his bout against Ben Rothwell on April 10.

At 32, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos still believes he needs to improve his MMA game, even his main asset: boxing. As he told Sportv, he wants to get better everywhere in order to become more confident in the Octagon.

“I still need to get better everywhere. I want to get even better and more complete. Even my boxing.  My wrestling, that’s something I have been working with my coach, Steve Mocco. I feel like a child when training with him. He’s a former Olympic athlete, so he’s really good.  I want to get more confident with my kicks, even the spinning ones. I did try one against Overeem, but it didn’t land, although it was quick. I felt good throwing it. It would have been fatal if it had landed.”

After being knocked out by Alistair Overeem last December, Junior dos Santos wanted a quick rebound and got it against Ben Rothwell, who will face him in Zagreb, Croatia, on April 10, in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 86 on Fox Sports 1.
