Now that UFC Fight Night 85 is in the books — full results here — it’s time to look ahead to Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) next pay-per-view (PPV) event.
And it’s a BIG one.
UFC 197 is scheduled to to go down on April 23, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada and features an much-anticipated rematch, as Light Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier defends his title against ex-division king, Jon Jones.
In their first encounter, Jones defeated “DC” top retain his title. Soon thereafter, “Bones” was stripped of his belt and suspended for a hit-and-run accident
After Cormier wont the vacant strap, he was met with criticism for claiming to be the real champ without having beaten Jones.
He’ll have the chance to silence his doubters pretty soon.
In the co-main event, Demetrious Johnson looks to add to his-ever impressive title run when he defends his Flyweight belt for the eight time against wrestling powerhouse Henry Cejudo.
Also, Anthony Pettis and Edson Barboza will collide in an intriguing Lightweight scrap.
