Khabib criticizes UFC game after religious blunder: ‘I’m not baptized’

UFC Lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov criticized the UFC game for giving him a “Christian” post-fight celebration.

Much like the majority of the people from his native Dagestan, Khabib Nurmagomedov is a devout Muslim. He adheres to the faith, and even refrains from fighting professionally during the holy month of Ramadan.

Given his devotion, it is understandable why Khabib took offence to the new EA Sports UFC game and the way his character was designed to celebrate a victory. It appears as though his character, much like the majority of those in the game, gesture in the form of a cross.

Once he became aware of the religious blunder, Khabib took to social media to inform EA Sports.

I’m a MUSLIM and not Baptized. Please @EASPORTSUFC edit my after fight celebration. I have a lot of Muslim fans and you have to respect it.

The Dagestan native is scheduled to headline the UFC on FOX 19 fight card on April 16 against Tony Ferguson.
