The UFC middleweight champion isn’t too happy with the promotional poster for his upcoming rematch with Chris Weidman at UFC 199.
The UFC have begun ramping up publicity for the middleweight championship rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman at UFC 199, and the newly-crowned champ isn’t happy with the promotional poster.
Rockhold demanded a revamp of the poster after he noted a random fist being pointed at his chin (h/t Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie).
What you guys think of the #ufc199 poster? The hand in the middle baffles me, needs to go.

Irish sensation Conor McGregor also grilled the UFC’s promotional team when he questioned why his featherweight belt wasn’t included on the original poster for UFC 197. “The Notorious” was expected to challenge lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in the main event for the promotion’s first champion vs champion superfight in 7 years.
“These are posters that will be looked back on long after it’s all said and done and you’ve got to look back on that absolute garbage,” McGregor said at a press-conference.
Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold became a two-promotion king when he dethroned Weidman at UFC 194. Rockhold engaged in a back-and-forth affair with “All-American” before capitalizing on a missed spinning back kick in the 3rd round. Atter blasting Weidman from full-mount, The American Kickboxing Academy product finished the job with more ground-and-pound in the following round to etch his name into the pound-for-pound rankings.
Rockhold vs Weidman II will headline UFC 199, which also features a bantamweight grudge match between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber in the co-main event, at The Forum in Inglewood, California on June 4th.
