Maybe he just got lucky?

Despite his second-round submission win over Conor McGregor at the UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) event earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada, Nate Diaz is still the betting underdog for their welterweight rematch at UFC 200, tentatively scheduled for July 9, 2016 (more on that here).

And if the fight takes place at lightweight? Doesn’t make much difference, according to Odds Shark:

The odds have hit the board at 5Dimes, but have intriguingly opened at two different lines depending on the weight the fight takes place at. The Irishman is favored at both lightweight, Diaz’ proper weight and McGregor’s likely future division, and welterweight, the weight the first fight took place at.

McGregor opened as a -170 favorite at lightweight and a -155 fave if the bout takes place at welterweight. Diaz came back at +140 at 155 lbs and +125 at 170 lbs. Those lines shifted within the first 30 minutes of posting and one can assume there will be more movement until a weight is announced.

The current line is McGregor at -130 vs. Diaz at +100.

It should be noted that “Notorious” is favored to win all of his upcoming fights, including the featherweight title defenses he continues to put on hold. Former division champion Jose Aldo sits at +160, while top 145-pound contender Frankie Edgar idles at +145.
