Cristiane Justino says she would like to continue fighting in the UFC if they give her catchweight or featherweight matches. Provided she comes out unscathed of her fight against Leslie Smith at UFC 198.

The biggest favorite on the UFC 198 card, Cristiane Justino doesn’t mind the media, the crowd or the fact that she’s fighting in her hometown in her UFC debut. As she told Combate, all those things won’t matter once the Octagon door closes behind her.

“I think it was like a gift that I got the fight in my hometown, but even though there will be 45 thousand people there,  I don’t care about things on the outside. I focus only on the Octagon. Myself and my opponent in there. The attention from the media, interviews and all that is just like when I fought for Strikeforce or Invicta. Of course it’ll be a little different, but  I’ll act like I’m home.”

As for future plans, “Cyborg” prefers to focus on the task at hand, although she wouldn’t mind fighting at UFC 200, on July 9, should she come out unscathed of her match on May 14.

“Depending on how my fight ends. I think I can fight at UFC 200 if I don’t have any injuries. There’s time to make weight.  My deal is for this fight only, but if they keep giving me catchweight fights or at my weight class, then I’ll keep fighting in the UFC.

Cristiane Justino is expected to debut in the UFC against Leslie Smith at UFC 198, on May 14. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Fabricio Werdum and challenger Stipe Miocic.
