Maybe there was more to this story after all?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Conor McGregor just retired from mixed martial arts (MMA), because he wants to get out of the combat sports game while he’s still young and has all his faculties, or something like that.
Well, that’s according to his most recent tweet:
I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya’s later.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 19, 2016
Short and to the point.
I guess UFC President Dana White will have to find a new main event for the upcoming UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, which takes place on Sat., July 9, 2016 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unless, of course, this is just another “Notorious” troll job and the Irishman is just looking for attention.
I’d say he’s got it, based on the number of retweets.
UFC has yet to make any sort of comment regarding this recent bombshell, but rest assured we’re just getting started.
