Jon Jones recently took Daniel Cormier to task by questioning the extent of the injury which forced “DC” out of their much-anticipated rematch, which was all set for UFC 197 on Sat., April 23, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to “Bones,” the rumor mill was indicating that Cormier wasn’t really injured, but rather hurt, something Jon says a fighter can and should compete through.
Upon hearing that statement, Cormier went to Twitter (via FOX Sports) to blast his bitter rival by citing numerous instances in which Jones pulled out of fights.
Ufc 172 was gonna be Gus. Jon no! Ufc 151 cancelled bout cancelled event.Ufc 178 hurt leg bout rescheduled.Ufc 187 out Jon ur not 1 to ? Me

Ufc 151 we know how that played out. Our 1st fight. Jon got hurt. Ufc 187 we know that one turned out. Jon isn’t one to question me. Better?

That’s 1 in 18 fights I just gave you 4 times he’s done it. Now he questions me. Makes a ton of sense https://t.co/5oBVy3KKAj

Speaking of UFC 151, Jones recently revealed he decided to break protocol and accept a last-minute fight against Ovince Saint Preux as a way to make up for the debacle.
And don’t expect “Bones” to underestimate the underdog, as the winner of the interim title fight at UFC 197 will earn the opportunity to face Cormier in a title unification match later this year.
