Gray Maynard will meet TUF Brazil 4 runner up, Fernando Bruno, on July 9, in Las Vegas.
Gray Maynard is back. After more than a year away from the Octagon, “The Bully” will return once again. This time around, to make his featherweight division debut when he meets The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 runner up, Fernando Bruno, in July, as it was reported by the Review Journal.
The 37-year old Maynard (11-5-1, 1 NC) will look to snap a four-fight losing skid with losses to TJ Grant, Nate Diaz, Ross Pearson and most recently, Alexander Yakovlev. His last win, a split decision over Clay Guida, dates back to June 2012.
A grappler with eight submission wins in his career and three more in the TUF house, Bruno (15-3) snapped a four-fight winning streak when he lost the TUF finale to Glaico Franca back in August. The Maynard fight will also mark Bruno’s UFC featherweight debut.
Gray Maynard is expected to meet Fernando Bruno at the TUF 23 Finale card, on July 8, in Las Vegas. The card will be headlined by a strawweight title fight between champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and challenger Claudia Gadelha.
