Video: Floyd Mayweather: Conor McGregor fight will ‘absolutely’ happen

Floyd Mayweather continues to entertain the idea about the possible fight against Conor McGregor.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has continued to broach the idea about a possible ‘super fight’ against UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

UFC president Dana White had already shut down the mere idea of the fight while urging Floyd Jr. to ‘call him‘ about it. But for “Money Mayweather” himself, it is not a distant possibility, as he once again spoke about it in an interview with Showtime Boxing’s Jim Gray on Friday night.

“We really don’t know as of right now,” Mayweather said. “But do I think the fight will happen? Absolutely.”

As far as the fight stipulations go, Mayweather says it takes place inside the squared ring, under boxing rules. And despite the obvious advantage that he holds, he still believes McGregor can pose a threat to him, one way or another.

“It has to be a boxing match because most fights that Conor McGregor won inside the Octagon was he was a stand-up guy. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a tough fight for me.”

“Conor McGregor, he’s no push-over,” he continued. “He fell short in his last bout, but a true champion can always bounce back. So that’s a guy that I can’t overlook.”
