Conor McGregor gives a preview of how he would fare under boxing rules during a sparring session with former IBO welterweight champion Chris van Heerden.
Despite repeated dismissals of being mere crazy talk, there remains to be a loud buzz surrounding the possible boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
Mayweather himself says that if he does come out of retirement, McGregor is the only man he intends to face, adding that they will be developing a “master plan” to make the fight happen.
McGregor had also dropped some hints of his own via social media, when he initially posted a supposed promotional poster of himself and Mayweather standing face-to-face, bearing the simple caption “MMA Vs. Boxing.”
Recently, he posted another tweet bearing a photo of a new pair of Reebok boxing shoes.
With his immediate future in the UFC on hold, McGregor seems to be leaning towards the idea of the Mayweather fight instead. On Tuesday, “The Notorious” was at the Box ‘N Burn gym in Los Angeles, where he was working on his boxing skills against former IBO welterweight champion Chris van Heerden in a sparring session.
For his part, van Heerden was impressed with how McGregor handled himself in the ring.
